FAQs: Antenna
Is the mounting height of a WAPM important?
If a WAPM's internal antenna is used, then the mounting height of the WAPM maybe important to insure good RF communications between the WAPM and PIM. Up to a point, as a general rule of the thumb, the higher the better.

Is the mounting orientation of a WAPM important?
If a WAPM's internal antenna is used, then the mounting orientation maybe important to insure good RF
communications between the WAPM and PIM. As a general rule of thumb, orient the WAPM so that it has the best "line of sight" path between the WAPM and PIM (i.e. orient so that there are the least amount of obstructions between the WAPM antenna and the PIM antenna)
and so that the antenna terminal block on the RF transceiver board is pointed
up.

When do I use a Remote Antenna Module?
If a PIM or WAPM cannot be installed in a location that provides good RF communications between both, then use a Remote Antenna Module, on either a PIM-OTD or WRI-100-OTD to provide a better "line-of-sight" path between a PIM and WAPM. Typical Remote Antenna Module applications include elevators and parking lot gates.
