How much delay does the RF communication add?
Assuming a reliable RF channel (i.e. no RF retries due to poor RF reliablity), the WAS RF signalling scheme adds less than .1 of a second signal processing delay for each RF transmission.

Why is my RF range less than expected?
If the RF range between a WPIM and WAPM is less than expected for a particular installation and the WPIM and WAPM are known to be good, then the problem is
either locally generated RF interference or an obstacle (i.e. wall) that is
attenuating the RF signal. Try another RF channel or try relocating (i.e. 6" left, right, up, down) the WPIM and/or WAPM until reliable RF communication is achieved.

How do I extend the RF range?
The RF range between a WAPM and WPIM can be maximized by installing the WAPM and WPIM in the best locations for optimal RF reliability
and/or by using gain antennae. Refer to the "WAS Operating and Configuring" manual for the exact procedure to be used.

How do I change an RF channel?
The RF channel used by a WPIM and it's WAPM is set by a 4 position DIP switch on the PIM. Note: changing the RF channel on a WPIM will require all the WAPMs linked to it to be re-linked. Refer to the "WAS Operating and Configuring" manual for the exact procedure to be used.

When should I change RF channels?
Change RF channels whenever a WPIM and WAPM fail to link or if the WAPM shows many "failure to communicate" indications (i.e. a single, almost immediate red led flash after any card has been swiped). Although rare, changing the RF channel may be required if this is RF
interference on the current RF channel.
