FAQs: Unlock/Relock
What is extended unlock?
Extended unlock is a function where the ACP wants the access point unlocked for an extended period of time and the unlock is not the result of a card swipe. For instance, the ACP wants the door to unlock at 8 AM and re-lock at 5 PM, this is an extended unlock. Refer to a section in the "WAS Configuring & Operating" manual that covers extended unlock.

I’ve changed the door unlock time in the ACP but the WAPM unlock time does not change, why?
Changing the door unlock time in the ACP will not change the unlock time in the WAPM. The CDT must be used to change the WAPM unlock time. Note: the ACP and WAPM unlock times must be set identically or undesired operation will result.

After a valid card swipe, how do I get the door to re-lock when either the door opens or closes?
Use the CDT to configure each WAPM for the desired re-lock (re-latch) method. The WAPM can be re-locked (re-latched) based just on time, when the door opens, or when the door closes. Refer to the " CDT Installation and Operating" manual for more details.
